There are over 2,000 species of rodents. The 3 most common rodents in South Carolina are:
- Mice - 2" - 4" long - tail is longer than the body - nest inside or outside of homes.
- Norway Rat (brown rat) - 8" - 10" long - tail 7" - 10" - Primarily noctornal - nest are ground level or in burrows.
- Roof Rat (black rat) - 5" to 8" long - tail 5" to 9" - nests above ground, attics, trees, houses, etc.
Problems most often caused by rodents include:
